“Together we will build a future of equality, justice and happiness for all people”
The Chairman of the BRICS+ Association of Cities and Municipalities Mr. Washington Luiz Cardoso Siqueira (Quaquá) greeted the participants of the BRICS Youth Olympiad.
The Olympiad took place on the sidelines of the BRICS Youth Festival, which was held on September 20-28, 2025. The Festival gathered more than 150 young talented participants from 13 countries around the world. In his welcoming speech Mr. Quaquá noted the importance of the event.
“I would like to greet all the participants, all of the youth that will gather at the festival – discussing, debating public policies and struggles of our youth”, – he stated.
In his speech, the Chairman pointed out a common goal for the BRICS youth – building a better future. He characterized it as a world that’s based on the principles of equality and justice. “We will build a better future for humanity, a future of equality, justice, a future of happiness for all nations, where a person are the center of the world, where the interests of everyone are taken into account”, – Mr. Quaquá stated.
Addressing the gathered youth, Washington Quaquá wished them luck and expressed his belief, that only by combining our efforts we can make a change. “Therefore, youth, together we will work for a better world. Let’s all join the discussion during the BRICS Youth Festival”, – concluded Mr. Quaquá.
The BRICS+ Association of Cities and Municipalities Chairmanship has passed to Brazil in 2025. At the General Assembly that was held in Maricá, Brazil, Washington Luiz Cardoso Siqueira, the president of the Brazilian Association of Municipalities and Mayor of Maricá, was elected as the Chairman.
