The first founding meeting of the BRICS+ Association of Cities and Municipalities will take place in Kazan on June 21. So far, responses have been received from China, Brazil, Turkey, African countries, CIS countries, and others. This was announced by the Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, during the Business Monday briefing.
«Dozens of mayors from BRICS+ cities, as well as those who wish to join the association, have responded so far. Based on our experience with the UCLG, we know well how important horizontal inter-municipal connections are. By meeting, communicating with each other, and visiting these cities, we learn best practices and implement them, taking into account our multinational character and the specific climatic conditions,» he said.
