«First of all, I asked to gather and teach us (the mayors – ed.). We are always in need of new knowledge and successful practices to learn from. The challenges we face are the same, so communication between mayors, I believe, is very important, as there are certainly those who have already spent time, money, and resources on solving these problems.»
- Members of the association include representatives from cities and municipalities of Russia, China, India, South Africa, Brazil, Iran, Ethiopia, Turkey, Chile, and other countries, with a total population of 2.6 billion people. Participants of the International Forum of BRICS+ Cities signed 10 cooperation and sister-city agreements, with Kazan becoming a partner of Qingdao.
- Thanks to the association, cities can exchange successful programs in the fields of ecology, tourism, culture and digitalization.
- The opportunities for cooperation are vast. A prime example of this is the library of the BRICS+ Association of Cities and Municipalities, presented in Kazan.
