On October 31, the Working Meeting of the BRICS+ Association of Cities and Municipalities took place in Dubai (UAE)
The headquarters of the organization is located here. The meeting was attended by the Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, in his capacity as Chairman, co-chairs, and other members of the association. They discussed the charter and structure of the association, as well as outlined the directions for further work. In particular, Ilsur Metshin proposed the creation of specialized committees and invited colleagues to the «Kazanysh» forum, which will take place in the capital of Tatarstan in December.

«Our meeting will be the starting point for the effective work of the association, launching promising initiatives and projects, fostering mutually beneficial cooperation, and will practically contribute to strengthening the friendly relations between the BRICS+ countries and their partners,» the mayor expressed confidence.
- The participants discussed the association’s charter, agreed to adjust the document if necessary, and adopt it at the next general meeting. The association will consist of three governing bodies.
- Ilsur Metshin proposed the creation of specialized committees to develop practical partnerships between the cities of BRICS+ countries in economic, social, cultural, and other areas, as well as to implement projects aimed at improving the quality of life for the populations of cities and municipalities.
- It was proposed to create a committee on ecology, a committee on social development, a committee on youth policy and education, a committee on sustainable development, a committee on urban planning policy, and a «Women of BRICS+» committee.
