The 25th summit of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) took place from August 31 to September 1 in the Chinese city of Tianjin, bringing together leaders from across Eurasia. Founded in 2001, the SCO serves as a vital multilateral mechanism for cooperation in the realms of security, economics, and cultural exchange. In the context of a rapidly changing geopolitical landscape and escalating global challenges such as terrorism, climate change, and economic instability, the summit provided a platform for discussing key issues facing the participating regions.
During the summit, leaders addressed a range of pertinent topics, including the strengthening of security, the advancement of economic cooperation, and the enhancement of cultural ties among nations. The culmination of these discussions was the adoption of the «Tianjin Declaration», which reflects the shared views and intentions of the member states across various spheres of interaction.
The «Tianjin Declaration» marks a significant step in reinforcing the SCO’s position as a prominent international organization that fosters stability and development in Eurasia. This document not only formalizes existing agreements but also sets a direction for future collaboration among member states. In light of global challenges such as economic crises and security threats, the declaration serves as a foundation for joint actions and strategic partnerships within the organization.
