The All India Institute of Local Self-Government (AIILSG) has commenced preparations for its upcoming centennial anniversary to be celebrated in 2026. This landmark event underscores the significance and impact of the Institute on the advancement of local governance both within India and internationally.
Over the past century, the AIILSG has evolved into a pivotal hub for training, research, and knowledge sharing, contributing to the enhanced effectiveness of local authorities. We deeply appreciate the Institute’s contribution to fostering democratic processes, as well as its support for our Association’s commitment to improving the quality of life for citizens through effective governance.
Leading up to the anniversary, the Institute is actively organizing a series of events dedicated to addressing key issues in local self-governance and exchanging best practices. We are confident that these initiatives will provide an excellent opportunity to strengthen ties between BRICS+ countries.
Next year, India will assume the BRICS presidency, marking an important step towards further consolidating cooperation among member states. We are certain that under India’s leadership new initiatives and programs will be developed to enhance interaction at all levels including local self-governance.
This marks a significant milestone for the AIILSG and all of our partners in India! We are confident that its future will be no less bright and impactful. We wish the Institute continued success in its future endeavors and look forward to the continuation of our fruitful collaboration.
